Meet our Staff: Andrew, Nicholas, and Sean!

Summer may be nearing its end, but the staff at Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge in Grand Lake, Colorado but our staff are still hard at working making sure guests, groups, and retreat attendees are having a great stay. Meet three of our staff members, Andrew, Nicholas, and Sean who make up part of our amazing team:

  • Shadowcliff Staff - SeanName: Andrew Tipton Banks
  • Age: 26
  • Where are you from? Berea, KY
  • What made you want to work at Shadowcliff? Never been to Colorado, and to be able to work on vacation is an easy win, also I dig the message of Shadowcliff
  • Coolest place you’ve ever visited: The Louvre
  • If you could be an expert in anything, what would it be? Chemistry or Physics
  • Favorite movie: Troy
  • What is something you would definitely want in your dream home? A study
  • The next place you would like to visit? Japan or India
  • Favorite activity in Grand Lake: Kayaking
  • Do you have a weird talent/skill? What is it: I can string Odysseus’ bow
  • What was your first pet? A mutt named Alex
  • If you were stranded on an island what three items would you want to have with you? A desalinifier, a fire-starter, and a nice machete
  • What famous and/or historical figure, dead or alive, would you want to have dinner with and what is one question you would ask? Alexander the Great: why did the campaign in India fail?

  • Age: 27
  • Where are you from? Manhattan, KS
  • What made you want to work at Shadowcliff? The mountains
  • Coolest place you’ve ever visited: Port Marion, Wales
  • If you could be an expert in anything, whatwould it be? Charm
  • Favorite movie: The Lion in Winter
  • What is something you would definitely want in your dream home? A ten-story, 50-acre indoor labyrinth
  • The next place you would like to visit? Berlin
  • Favorite activity in Grand Lake: The outdoors
  • Do you have a weird talent/skill? What is it: I can contact juggle
  • What was your first pet? Spooks the cat
  • If you were stranded on an island what three items would you want to have with you? A replicator, a piano, and a boat (duh)…like, a big one.
  • What famous and/or historical figure, dead or alive, would you want to have dinner with and what is one question you would ask? Groucho Marx: can we have dinner again?

  • Age: 20
  • Where are you from? Born in South Africa, living in Scotland
  • What made you want to work at Shadowcliff? The waymy cousin described it to me it sounded amazing. Plus the thought of being in the Rocky Mountains made me really excited. And for the friendships I would make.
  • Coolest place you’ve ever visited: Grand Teton National Park
  • If you could be an expert in anything, what would it be? Martial arts or wilderness survival skills
  • Favorite movie: Old School
  • What is something you would definitely want in your dream home? Fully-equipped gym with a swimming pool and big garden.
  • The next place you would like to visit? Yosemite National Park
  • Favorite activity in Grand Lake: Hiking all the trails that lead out of Grand Lake
  • What was your first pet? My first pet was a dog
  • If you were stranded on an island what three items would you want to have with you? Flint and steel, hunting knife, Bible
  • What famous and/or historical figure, dead or alive, would you want to have dinner with and what is one question you would ask? Stevie Ray Vaughan: Can you play guitar for me?
