It’s out last week at Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge for the 2017 season and we would be remiss if we didn’t shoutout these final three dedicated staff members – Jan, Cherie, and Kerry:
Name: Jan Wolfrum- Age: Too personal 🙂
- Where are you from? Leipzig, Germany
- What made you want to work at Shadowcliff? Always awesome people to work and laugh with; Amazing nature and mountains; I like and appreciate the mission of Shadowcliff.
- Coolest place you’ve ever visited: Oh wow, this is not easy to answer… there were many and one of them is definitely Shadowcliff. Another one was a beach in Australia. There I saw little cute penguins and the sand made luminous and twinkling trails when I ran over it.
- If you could be an expert in anything, what would it be? Psychology, Carpenter, Water (how it functions, the structure changes, how you can stabilize and renature courses of rivers…), Clinic-Clown, Sailing, Climbing, (natural) medicine, Piano player, a tree whisperer.
- Favorite movie: Probably “Mr. Robinson”, also known as “Robinson Jr.”
- What is something you would definitely want in your dream home? A creek which flows through the land, trees, a hammock and cozy spots.
- The next place you would like to visit? Guadeloupe
- Favorite activity in Grand Lake: Hiking, sitting at the Point, laughing in the kitchen, watching Game of Thrones in the Center.
- Do you have a weird talent/skill? What is it: I can make changing the color of snow 🙂
- What was your first pet? A rabbit
- If you were stranded on an island what three items would you want to have with you? A coconut opener, a boat, a surfboard
- What famous and/or historical figure, dead or alive, would you want to have dinner with and what is one question you would ask? Harder to answer than I thought…Two come in my mind… a serious one and a fun one: I would like to meet the historical Jesus and ask him what his real ideas and values of life were. And it would be cool to meet Doc and Martin McFly from the movie “Back to the Future” and ask them whether I can join them by a trip through time

- What made you want to work at Shadowcliff? I’m back for a second season because I love this place!
- Coolest place you’ve ever visited: Mindo, Ecuador
- If you could be an expert in anything, what would it be? I would love to be able to sing so beautifully that it gives people chills (never gonna happen).
- Favorite movie: A beautiful mind
- What is something you would definitely want in your dream home? A hammock and a library
- The next place you would like to visit? Cape Breton Island
- Favorite activity in Grand Lake: Lounging on the docks.
- Do you have a weird talent/skill? What is it: Not that I’m aware of…
- What was your first pet? A hermit crab named Claws.
- If you were stranded on an island what three items would you want to have with you? My journal, tools to start fires, and a communication device.
- What famous and/or historical figure, dead or alive, would you want to have dinner with and what is one question you would ask? Walt Whitman. I would ask him to tell me about all of his friends.

- What made you want to work at Shadowcliff? I love the setting; I endorse the sustainability ethic; and i support the goals of the Shadowcliff organization.
- Coolest place you’ve ever visited: Iceland and Peru
- If you could be an expert in anything, what would it be? Community design
- Favorite movie: Spider Woman
- What is something you would definitely want in your dream home? 100% solar power
- The next place you would like to visit? Costa Rica and Galapagos
- Favorite activity in Grand Lake: Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre
- Do you have a weird talent/skill? What is it: Organizing stuff, events, projects
- What was your first pet? A goose
- If you were stranded on an island what three items would you want to have with you? Matches, a knife, and a big bottle of Advil
- What famous and/or historical figure, dead or alive, would you want to have dinner with and what is one question you would ask? Barack Obama – How can I help you develop young leaders for the Democratic Party?
