Cliffside sits at the southern edge of Shadowcliff, high above the village and overlooking Grand Lake. The top-floor lounge is a peaceful retreat with picture windows framing Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, and the distant peaks of the Gore Range to the south. It’s an ideal setting to reconnect with nature—especially for workshops, reunions, and small groups.

Cliffside accommodates groups of up to 20 adults, offering privacy and flexibility for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. Amenities include a cozy fireplace lounge with sweeping lake and mountain views, a full kitchen and dining room for group meals, four single-stall bathrooms with private showers, and seven private guest rooms with occupancy maximums of four or six.

Sleeping Arrangements

Each private guest room accommodates up to four to six people:

  • Rooms 1, 2, 5-7: One queen bed and one or two sets of bunk beds
  • Rooms 3 and 4: One set of bunk beds and a double bed
  • Most rooms include a dresser, writing desk, and a clothes-hanging rod
Bathrooms

Access to four clean, single-stall bathrooms with private showers.

Shared Spaces
  • First Floor:
    • Rooms 1–2
    • Dining area with picnic tables and benches
    • Guest kitchen (stove, two refrigerators, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and cookware/utensils)
    • Two single-stall bathrooms
  • Second Floor:
    • Rooms 3–7
    • Two single-stall bathrooms
  • Third Floor:
    • Lounge with hanging fireplace, couches, chairs, tables, books, futon, piano, and small library
  • Exterior:
    • Long deck outside the kitchen
    • Pergola-covered patio
Cooking

Guests have access to the private Cliffside kitchen to store food and prepare meals. Please label food and remove or share it upon departure. Our Compassionate Kitchen in the main lodge serves group meals and occasional community dinners; with advance notice, drop-in options may be available.

Accessibility Note: Access to all floors of Cliffside requires climbing stairs.

Minimum Stay: Two nights (single-night stays may be available on a walk-in basis, if space permits)

Entire Cliffside Lodge (Group Bookings)

The entire Cliffside Lodge may be reserved for larger groups and is required for any group seeking to occupy a majority of the rooms and to use the kitchen for their meals. The Cliffside Lodge rate includes exclusive use of the third-floor lounge, dining area, and kitchen, and does not include food service from our main lodge.

Shoulder Season Rate: $735/night (3-night minimum, up to 20 adults, no meals)
Peak Season Rate: $945/night (3-night minimum, up to 20 adults, no meals)

Rempel is great for individuals or families looking for a private room in Grand Lake, CO, with a chance to interact with other guests in welcoming shared spaces.

Cabins

Cabins are perfect for individuals, couples, or families who want their own private, secluded space to enjoy a respite surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

Lodge Room Policies

  • Minimum Stay: Two nights. Single-night stays may be available on a walk-in basis, if space permits.
  • Check-In: 3:00 PM
  • Check Out: 10:00 AM
  • Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at booking.
  • Bathrooms: Rempel Lodge features shared, gender-specific bathrooms with private showers. Cliffside Lodge offers shared, gender-neutral single-stall bathrooms with private showers.
  • Linens: Towels and a lovingly folded linen packet are provided upon arrival; guests make their own beds.
  • Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping is not provided in rooms or cabins.
  • Smoking: No smoking anywhere on Shadowcliff grounds, lodges, or cabins — this includes tobacco products, cigars, pipes, marijuana (medical or otherwise), and electronic smoking devices.
  • Pets: No pets are permitted anywhere on the Shadowcliff property.
  • Camping & Vehicles: Camping, sleeping in vehicles, or overnight parking for this purpose are not permitted anywhere on the Shadowcliff grounds. All guests must stay in designated accommodations.

Cancellations:

  • Within 24 hours of booking: Full refund
  • After 24 hours and up to 14 days before arrival: Loss of half of the 50% deposit
  • Within 14 days of arrival: Loss of the full 50% deposit
  • Changing dates: If your plans change, we’re happy to work with you to find new dates. Deposits are transferrable to different dates within a season. Please give us a call at 970-627-9220 for assistance.
