Meeting Spaces
Ample Indoor and Outdoor Spaces for Community Events.
Fostering Connections
Shadowcliff was built with community in mind.
This means we have plenty of options for groups to gather, both indoor and out.
Certain accommodations have coordinating meeting spaces that are included in their nightly rate, but those spaces can also be added to a group stay for an additional fee.
All of the shared spaces, like the Rempel Lounge, Laws of Nature Trail, and The Point come without charge.
The Chapel
Originally built as a chapel, what is now our main meeting space is situated on the highest point of Shadowcliff property. It is constructed of native lodgepole pine and has wrap-around windows overlooking the lakes and surrounding mountains. The massive stone fireplace, constructed of native moss-rock and encompassed by artistic decor, provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The space can accommodate about 75 people at standing room only, 45 seated, and 30 or fewer for physical activity. The Chapel has 45 chairs and 5 folding tables that can be set up as desired. There is a television, projector (no audio except the TV), large pull down screen, wifi, and easels for flip charts.
The Point
The Point is our main outdoor gathering spot. The natural rock and wooden log bench seating surrounds a fire pit and is a wonderful place for ceremonies, story sharing, and gatherings. The beautiful cross memorial begs you to peer out and contemplate life's bigger questions. Countless conversations, musings, prayers, epiphanies, stories, musical performances, and tears of both joy and sadness have been shared here.
Cliffside Third Floor Lounge
For groups that choose the quiet and privacy of Cliffside Lodge, the third floor lounge is your meeting space. The bright space has tables, chairs, couches, books, a hanging fireplace, and even a piano. The large picture window looks out onto Grand Lake and beyond. The Cliffside Lounge can hold about 20 people comfortably, more for groups who are sitting, and about 12 for groups doing yoga or other movement related activities.
Laws of Nature Trail
Our very own interpretive nature trail, Laws of Nature is a lovely trail that meanders around the Shadowcliff grounds. Featuring 5 spots for contemplation, each displaying a few "laws" to consider and a sitting space with a correlating view, Laws of Nature is a wonderful way to acclimate and get to know the Shadowcliff space. Some groups use it as a walking meditation and others as a group ecology walk. What will be your experience?
