A nonprofit mountain lodge built by volunteers, offering simple comfort, lake views, and a spirit of community in Grand Lake, Colorado.
Nestled at the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, Rempel Lodge is a chalet-style alpine lodge that combines the nostalgic warmth of summer camp with the tranquility of a mountain retreat. The handcrafted wood and stone interior is accented by Native American, Mexican, and international art, creating an atmosphere that feels both global and deeply rooted in place. Guests return year after year for the views, the friendships, and the sense of belonging that defines Shadowcliff.
Our friendly staff makes every guest feel at home. The decks surrounding Rempel invite you to gaze across the lakes to near and distant mountain ranges or listen to the North Inlet tumbling below. Inside you’ll find the Peter Winant Memorial Library with a collection of more than 1,500 volumes for all guests to enjoy.
Other amenities include a spacious lounge for gatherings and a magnificent fireplace for evening conversations, s’mores, and new and continuing friendships. Rempel also offers a large dining area and a small guest kitchen. Bathrooms are shared, gender-specific facilities with private showers. Private guest rooms accommodate up to four or six persons and overlook Grand Lake, the North Inlet, or the Shadowcliff campus with the Rockies close by.
