Sunday Reset: Meditation & Breathwork
Join Shadowcliff’s Executive Director, Alexander Thompson, for a gentle Sunday evening practice designed to help you settle, reconnect, and prepare for the week ahead. Practicing in Shadowcliff’s historic chapel, overlooking Grand Lake and the surrounding mountains, participants are invited to slow down and reconnect with the rhythms of breath, body, and place.
Through guided meditation and pranayama, a yogic breathing practice, participants will explore the breath as a tool for calming the nervous system, increasing awareness, and deepening connection with mind, body, and spirit.
Meditation and breathwork have long been used to support mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Many people find that conscious breathing helps quiet the mind, release unhealthy thought patterns, and cultivate a deeper sense of calm and clarity. Over time, these practices can elevate mood, ease anxiety, and encourage greater self-acceptance and emotional balance. Physically, breathwork may help release tension, restore energy, and support the body’s natural rhythms. Spiritually, the practice invites greater self-awareness and connection.
​​No prior experience is necessary. Whether you are new to meditation or returning to a familiar practice, this offering provides a welcoming space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself in community with others.
What to Expect
Each session includes guided meditation, gentle breathwork practices, and time for rest and integration. Alexander will offer clear guidance throughout the experience and create a supportive environment where participants can explore the breath at their own pace.
Participants are welcome to lie down or sit comfortably during the session. Blankets and mats will be available in the chapel, though you are welcome to bring anything that helps you feel especially comfortable and supported.
Drop-ins are welcome if space allows, though pre-registration is encouraged.
