Emily Cesca — Promotion to General Manager

Shadowcliff is happy to announce that Emily Cesca has been promoted to General Manager, effective May 1, 2019.

As many of you know we have had the great fortune of having Carl Sniffen serve in many capacities over many years, including most recently as General Manager. With Carl’s decision to spend more time with his family in Oregon, we began the search for his successor. And we found the ideal person to assume the role of General Manager for the 2019 season and beyond.

Emily has served as Shadowcliff’s Assistant Manager for the last two seasons and has been a wonderful asset to the Shadowcliff community. Her experience at Shadowcliff, along with her previous professional background, make her the perfect candidate to succeed Carl in this most significant position to ensure that the operations of Shadowcliff run smoothly.

Emily is originally from Portland, Oregon, but lived most of her life in California until she relocated to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 2015. Her early professional experience included finance, operations, and personnel management. In recent years she shifted her focus and now, along with her commitment to Shadowcliff, she spends her time teaching yoga, Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga, helping to manage a local yoga studio, and assisting with retreats in her off-season home in Mexico.

Emily is clearly well-aligned with the Shadowcliff mission, as is evident in her daily work with the guests, staff, and volunteers. She exudes enthusiasm, professionalism, and compassion. Her commitment and daily personal contributions help make the magic of Shadowcliff a reality on a daily basis.

P.s. Carl will be on-site at Shadowcliff assisting with this important transition through the end of June, so hopefully many of you will have the opportunity to thank him for his many years of service, and wish him well on the next leg of his journey.
