1977: Ecumenikos (first group) came to Shadowcliff for the first time July 14 or 15 launching along term love affair with many people from that community. This was the introduction of Judith Christy and Bob Mann to Shadowcliff. Little did they or the Rempels know that 24 years later Judith and Bob would succeed them as Shadowcliff Directors.
September, 1977: Labor Day. Walt Friesen introduced the idea of a Volunteer Weekend as a “thank you” to volunteers who came to Shadowcliff to volunteer in the spring at Memorial Day. That tradition continues today.
