Join playwright Renae Jarrett for an honest conversation about creative life, and what it feels like when it stops.

Over the past few years, Renae moved from writing dozens of plays a year to a complete standstill. In this conversation, she'll share honestly about how that happened, how she has and hasn't found her way through it, and what she's learned about the importance of making when it doesn't feel like there is a place for your voice.

She'll share work from the writers who shaped her, including Adrienne Kennedy, Wallace Shawn, and Caryl Churchill, and invite participants to bring their own stories of creative blocks and how they did or didn't work through them.

This conversation is part of Shadowcliff's 2026 Still Point Sessions residencies, bringing artists to the mountains for a week of creative work in Grand Lake.
