Shadowcliff has a rich history of volunteerism, especially visible during the month of May when Grand Lake starts waking up from winter! There are two phases of efforts in May with different point persons and different needs. Please read below to learn where your interests and skills might best meet this year’s needs:

 

May 24-26 Volunteer Weekend: General Volunteers

Shadowcliff is seeking helpers for Volunteer Weekend: May 24-26, 2024. Five meals will be provided during the weekend: Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sunday breakfast and lunch. The guest kitchen will be available for use, and there are multiple Grand Lake restaurants within walking distance.

Examples of work planned for Volunteer Weekend include: Assisting with meals for the group, cleaning windows and surfaces, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, replacing light fixtures, laundry, outdoor work on the property, and more.

Anticipated Schedule:

Friday, May 24
Arrive anytime, set up your room, dinner on your own

Saturday, May 25
8am: Breakfast, welcome, go over work assignments
9am: Begin work
12-1pm: Lunch break, work updates
1-5pm: Continue work
6pm: Dinner
7pm: Shadowcliff update in the Rempel lounge

Sunday, May 26
8am: Breakfast, work updates
9am: Work continues
12pm: Lunch, thank you's, goodbyes
1pm: Work continues, if you can stay
(Please clean your room before departing and check out anytime)

Monday, May 27
10am: Last volunteer check out (please clean your room before departing)

If you are interested in attending Volunteer Weekend, please register here. During volunteer weekend, our staff and lead volunteers will be wearing green Shadowcliff T-shirts. If for any reason you need assistance, please find one of us. If we don’t know the answer to your question – we’ll point you in the right direction.

 

A reminder of the board policies that will support our safe and successful functioning this season:
1) No pets of any kind on campus. (If you have a licensed service dog, please contact us in advance and provide documentation of their license. Note, Shadowcliff is not currently able to accommodate emotional support animals).
2) No open flames, vaping, or smoking of any kind or substance anywhere on the property.
3) No weapons of any kind permitted on site.
