
LaQuetta Walker
LaQuetta S. Walker, MSW is the proud mother of an amazing son who was the 1 st in our family to graduate early from high school. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her emphasis of study were Program Development, Policies, Research and Evaluation and Community Organizing. As a strong community advocate and leader in social justice and social change, she is dedicated to ensuring Black/African American children receives an adequate, equitable and quality education and Black families have knowledge, access and support in all areas of the Social Determinants of Heath. This led her to become a member of Children’s Hospital’s African American Family Advisory Council, Board of Directors for NAMI Colorado, and former member of Hunger Free Colorado Community Council and former co-chair of Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger’s Governing Council.
As the Creative Visionary Officer/Founder of LaQuetta’s LAfTA, LLC®, she cultivates thought leaders to have clear and concise messaging that matters. She works with nonprofit organizations, state agencies, and small businesses on Strategic Development and Planning to create and catalyze inclusive strategies that advance their mission and vision while sustaining cultural, educational, political and social impact. She facilitates presentations for parent and community groups, nonprofit organizations, schools, and school districts to enhance advocacy efforts about parent engagement, school nutrition services, disability rights, and government assistance programs. She is an award-winning Chief Editor and National/International Best-selling co-author of Becoming a Girl Powerhouse Volume 3: Breaking the mold.
