A message from friend of Shadowcliff Jerry Rees

The Spirit of Shadowcliff

At the Shadowcliff virtual Open House in May, … I was asked, “To what do you attribute the power of that place?” To answer, I composed this. (Jerry Rees)

The Spirit of Shadowcliff
The elevated panoramic view of the town and lakes and the distant mountain ranges on the horizon.
The shade and fragrance of trees and the sight and sound of critters who dwell among them.
The constant roar of the north inlet from the chasm below.
Remembering Warren and Pat and Bob and Judith and absorbing their vision.
Interacting with the pilgrims and fellow travelers and staff converging at this crossroads on the cliff.
Sun and wind and distant thunder and lightning and mist moving across the lakes.
The warm rustic interior of the lodge with its circular fireplace and its library and wall hangings.
Viewing the dome of the Milky Way Galaxy on a dark night sitting quietly or talking at the point.
The healthy and delicious food.
A grand cathedral to rest, to heal, to connect, to share, to learn, to grow, to imagine.

Thank you, Jerry!
