Thank You 2021 Volunteers!

Thank You Shadowcliff Volunteers!

Due to COVID, we were once again unable to host Volunteer Weekend over the Memorial Day holiday this year. Instead three volunteer coordinators and 25 volunteers worked over the course of the full month of May to prepare for opening the 2021 season. The community building of our traditional volunteer weekend was sorely missed, but the crews were amazing, and even with some snowy and rainy weather, they completed close to 100% of all of the planned projects.
Chris VanRoekel, Board Chair of the Facilities Committee, termed 2021 the :Year of the Deck", including a complete tear-down and re-build of the Fireside cabin deck, and many smaller repairs for most of the other decks as well. General Manager, Emily Cesca, would add that it was also the "Year of Replacements", including all new mattresses, pillows, and linens.

Heartfelt gratitude to ALL!

"I want to thank Shadowcliff staff for this unique opportunity to help out. I was able to work on the dedication trail which was built when I was on the BOD at Shadowcliff a couple years ago. It was like coming full circle. The time spent there was healing and inspiring, as always. Please keep me on your 'trail maintenance' list for next year. Best of luck this summer."

"I totally enjoyed my volunteer visit the last two days. I tuned all three pianos, which are aging but serviceable. You have a super staff for the summer!  And after the fire, the cleaning company did an amazing job. I have never seen Shadowcliff in better shape. Best wishes for a successful Summer season.  I enjoyed meeting many of the Summer staff.  I am so thankful Shadowcliff was spared from the fire! By the way, Emily is the best."
