International Mountain Day

International Mountain Day: Dec 11th

International Mountain Day is celebrated annually to promote awareness for mountain communities around the globe. December 11th was officially declared as International Mountain Day by the United Nations General Assembly in 2002.

Thank you, Patt & Warren Rempel, for your vision of providing a mountain sanctuary called Shadowcliff. Now celebrating 65 years of individual and collective transformation!

Mountains as Home
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.”  John Muir
