Here’s a rundown of some tools and ingredients you’ll want to have on hand for homemade pasta and a medley of sauces! All you need are some basic ingredients, plus your basic kitchen items like pots, pans, spatulas, and ladles.

We’ll be cooking with ingredients like, but not limited to, flour, eggs, garlic, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, cheese, milk, [unsalted] butter, oil, salt, pepper, and herbs of your choice. We’re going to be using every single bit of the ingredients of each recipe to be as sustainable as possible and learn how far we can really stretch our food.

Get ready to make noodles from scratch AND get ready to whip up some SAUCE! Fresh noodles require flour, salt, water + one egg minimum.

We’re making a pesto sauce, a tomato sauce, an alfredo sauce, and a butter-sage sauce from scratch. You can choose to get ingredients for any or all of these, totally up to you. Here’s what these sauces call for:

PESTO SAUCE:
Fresh basil
Pine nuts
Aged parmesan cheese
Garlic cloves
Olive oil

TOMATO SAUCE:
Tomatoes (if they’re fresh + started to mold, even better; otherwise, get a can at your local grocer)
Olive oil
Either oregano OR basil (either dried or fresh will do)
If you like it spicy, bring cayenne/red pepper flakes or your fave spice

ALFREDO SAUCE:
Milk or heavy cream
Unsalted butter
Garlic (fresh or powdered)
Aged parmesan cheese

BUTTER-SAGE SAUCE:
Unsalted butter
Fresh sage (but if you absolutely can’t find any, then dried will do)
