- Warren Rempel’s ”History of Shadowcliff” says that they built the first cabin dubbed the International Headquarters of Shadowcliff in the summer of 1959 over a period of 6 weeks. This was the A-frame which was the first installment of Overlook Cabin.
- The Main or Rempel Lodge began in 1963 but in first years was measuring, planning, a false start with peeling logs (which were stolen by the contractor) and a reversion from log construction to standard wood design. This building was finished in 1976
