Welcome to Kimberly and Kathy!

Introducing new leadership staff

Kimberly Carmitchel will serve as onsite General Manager and Kathy Baldwin-Heitman is supporting remotely as Executive Administrator

Dear Shadowcliff friends,

Whether you connect with us as a summer visitor, volunteer, or Grand County neighbor, you know that spending time at Shadowcliff is a special and unique experience. In order to best support to our on-site staff team and nurture a culture that embraces our organization’s values, we’re adjusting some roles for 2024 and have the opportunity to welcome some new and returning friends to our staff leadership team.

Kimberly Carmitchel brings years of experience as a former resident of Grand Lake and visitor to Shadowcliff. She first joined the board of directors in 2023, but has now stepped off the board and into the position of on-site General Manager. Kimberly will assist in hiring seasonal staff, and will manage all operations for the 2024 season. You can reach her at operations@shadowcliff.org

We’re also welcoming Kathy Baldwin back to the Shadowcliff team in a new role of Executive Administrator, starting in February. Kathy’s extensive knowledge of Shadowcliff and administrative leadership will be a wonderful asset to the team in 2024!

The Board of Directors will be working closely with both Kimberly and Kathy this year to support Shadowcliff’s mission and operations. We also want to express heartfelt gratitude to Blaine Scott for leading Shadowcliff as Executive Director in the past year with unfailing patience and kindness.

Lastly, our reservations calendar for 2024 is now open! Book your stay in a cabin, lodge room or hostel online or by email. Groups 10+ should contact Admin Manager Emily Cesca for booking options (admin@shadowcliff.org)

See you this summer at Shadowcliff!

– Kelly Yarbrough (Board President)
