Map of Shadowcliff

Explore Shadowcliff's elevated sanctuary, surrounded by nature's breathtaking vistas.

Shadowcliff’s Site

Much of Shadowcliff’s beautiful site sits on a high outcropping overlooking Grand Lake with distant views of the Gore Range to the south. Turn around and gaze up North Inlet into Rocky Mountain National Park. We’re less than half a mile from two trailheads into RMNP, and a short drive to a third. The heart of the town is about a half mile walk downhill. (Just remember, you’ll have to walk back uphill!)

Take a walk around the site on the Bob Mann and Judith Christy Laws of Nature Interpretive Trail. Go down to the end of our road where our property borders the North Inlet stream tumbling by. Walk up to the point, a signature spot on our campus where you might want to stop and sit quietly, basking in the beauty of the environment or enjoying a dramatic sunset.

Getting to Shadowcliff

US 34 is the only route to Grand Lake. Arrive either from Granby to the south, or via Estes Park over Trail Ridge Road from the north.
As you drive into Grand Lake, stay left on West Portal Road for appx. 1 mile.
Turn left up Country Road 663. You’ll see a sign there for Shadowcliff Mountain Lodge.

About Grand Lake

Grand Lake, the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, is a delightful, historic town with a 4-block board walk shopping district. The beach area provides a place for kids to play and adults to relax. Boats can be rented. And of course, there is hiking, with three trailheads into RMNP starting in Grand Lake. If you’ve already experienced Grand Lake, you know how wonderful it is. If this is your first visit, you’ll probably be back!
